Paper-making Felt Use Instruction

Special attention 
1. Correct type selection 
    Select proper felt in accordance with equipment conditions and products.
2. Rectify roller distance and ensure straightness of standard line to prevent wrinkles.
3. Distinguish facade and back.
   Due to different layer spreading, each felt has facade and back. The company's every felt has the  word 'facade' and the facade must be toward the direction pointed by the arrow, consistent with the rotating direction of paper machine. Besides, the felt's tension shall be moderate in order to prevent excessive tension or looseness. 
4. New felt before placed on machine shall be fully softened.
Generally it is better to wash the new felt before placed on machine in 3-5% soap solution for 2 hours,and warm water about 60℃ is better. The softening time of new felt before placed on machine to produce tissue paper after wetted shall be about 2-4 hours, and that of asbestos tile felt shall be about 1-2 hours. It is forbidden to roll the felt in dry conditions.
 
Instructions and requirements
1. When the felt is placed on machine, felt surface shall not be distained by sludge of spindle head.
2. Needled felt has a higher content of chemical fiber and shall not be washed with concentrated acid solution. 
3. Needled felt has a higher content of water. When the embosses arise, the vacuum suction or the squeeze roll pressure can be increased, and drainage shoveling blade can be installed on lower roller to make the water drained from both sides to reduce the water content of paper.
4. The chipped fiber and packing in the pulp are prone to block the felt and give rise to embosses, spray water to clean both surfaces and increase flushing pressure, and it is better to roll and wash it in warm water about 45℃. Not brush the felt with hard brush during washing.
5. The needled felt is smooth and thick, the wrinkles are not east to arise and it is not suitable to pull it tightly. If the felt is wider and cannot be torn, electric iron shall be used to open the edge or after the edge is cut by the scissors, seal it with electric iron. 
 
Others
1. The felt shall be separated from chemical material and other material during storage in order to prevent corrosion and damage.
2. The storage site shall be ventilated, and the felt shall be placed horizontally in order to prevent loose and tight sides. 
3. The felt shall not be stored so long, because the chemical fiber influences the dimension of felt during long-term storage.
